Itinerary
Day 1: Friday
Depart a USA International Airport on a TRANSIT flight to Accra, Ghana
Transit flights stopover in Europe, United Arab Emirates, or Africa. Possible change of Aircraft

Depart a USA International Airport on a DIRECT flight to Accra, Ghana
Day 2: Saturday
Transfer to connecting flight in Europe, United Arab Emirates or Africa Arrive at Kotoka International Airport, Accra in the morning or evening
OR
Direct flights arrive at Kotoka International Airport in the afternoon or evening
Upon arrival, complete Customs and Immigration formalities and COVID-19 Test Protocols and retrieve your baggage. (VACCINATED travelers DO NOT require a test. UNVACCINATED travelers DO)
Exit the airport Arrival Hall and meet your tour guide outside. He or she will be holding a placard with the tour group name and lead you to the Airport Parking lot to board a tour bus.
Morning, afternoon, and evening transfers to your hotel depending on flight arrival time. Check-in to your hotel rooms.
Attend a tour orientation meeting held in a reserved room. During orientation, you will have an opportunity to purchase fabric and have your measurements taken for sewing custom African outfits.
Spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure recuperating from your flight

Day 3: Sunday
After breakfast embark on a short ride to Cantonments, to visit the W. E. B. Du Bois Center. Learn about his life in Ghana and the role he played in promoting Pan Africanism on the continent.
Upon completion embark on a short trip to T. K. Beads Factory and Boutique located in Northeast Accra. View the process of how Ghanaian Beads are made from Glass in earthen furnaces. Shop for necklaces, bracelets, handbags, and a variety of other products made from or adorned with beads
After lunch, go on a shopping tour of Accra with stops at Artisan locations selling unique products. Alternatively, depending on tour group size, shop at a private open-air vendor market showcasing the products of creative artisans in Fashion, Jewelry, Skincare, and Haircare.
Late afternoon transfer to your hotel. After a brief respite and refreshing yourselves, head out to a restaurant in the city for a sumptuous dinner featuring Ghanaian Cuisine

Day 4: Monday
After breakfast, check out of the hotel. Commence a road trip to Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana Upon arrival, go on a drive-through City Tour. Venues of interest include boarding High Schools established by Christian Missionaries during the colonial era. Cape Coast’s reputation as a center for education is further burnished by the presence of the University of Cape Coast. Drive through a tour of the university to learn more about this institution.
Enjoy lunch and go on a tour of the Cape Coast Castle and Slavery Museum. The castle tour includes an emotional walk-through of the Slave Dungeons to the “Door of No Return.”
After this emotional tour, participate in a Naming Ceremony to re-affirm your identity as an African in the Diaspora and acknowledge Ghana as your Ancestral Home. In Akan Culture, newborns are given special names depending on the day they are born. Diverse ethnicities have variants and meanings as a symbol of Cultural Integrity and Ancestral Affiliation. During the ceremony, you will be given a Day Name as well as a Middle Name. Middle names can refer to the order of birth as part of the caste of siblings, twins’ status, an appellation of personality traits or as an honorific to a departed ancestor.
Early evening transfer to the resort for check-in. Enjoy dinner and spend the evening at leisure

Day 5: Tuesday
Enjoy your breakfast at the resort restaurant. Depart on a short road trip to Kakum National Park to experience the “Canopy Walk.” Take in the exhilarating views from the 50-meter rope and wooden walkway suspended 100 feet above the floor of the tropical rainforest. Depending on your luck, you may sight some of the bird species resident in the park
After this wonderful experience, transfer to the beach resort in the early afternoon for lunch.
Spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing on a private beach on the Atlantic Ocean

Day 6: Wednesday
Early breakfast at the resort restaurant. Check out of the resort and depart Cape Coast for Kumasi. On the way, continue your tour of the Central Region by taking a short road trip to Assin Manso. Upon arrival, tour the Slavery Memorial and the Slave River. This is where people captured in the Central and Northern parts of Ghana were brought to before walking to the coast to be shipped as Slaves to the Americas and Caribbean. After completion of this emotional experience, continue the journey to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana
Mid-afternoon arrival in Kumasi. Go on a drive through tour of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an elite tertiary educational institution. Afternoon tour of Manhyiaa Palace Museum to learn about the history and culture of the Ashanti (Asante) people.
Early evening transfer to your hotel for check-in. After dinner, spend the evening at leisure recuperating from the road trip

Day 7: Thursday
After breakfast, continue the City Tour of Kumasi, the capital city of the Ashanti Region. The day will be spent visiting and shopping at the 3 Craft Villages.
The first stop on this shopping expedition is Bonwire, the Kente Craft Village. View the artisans weaving this resplendent cloth on traditional looms. Shop for Kente cloth and related items.
The next stop on the tour will be Ntonsu the Adinkra Craft Village. View the artisans creating the cloth using dye and ink stamps to imprint symbols with proverbial meanings.
After lunch, head to Ahwiaa the Wood Carving Village to shop for wooden sculptures including figurines, stools, and chests.
Late afternoon transfer to the hotel. After dinner spends the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 8: Friday
After breakfast, check out of your hotel rooms. Prior to departing Kumasi, visit the Kumasi Cultural Center (Prempeh II Museum) to learn more about Ashanti (Asante) culture.
View a Cultural Dance Troupe performance. Take the opportunity to learn Adowa, a traditional Akan dance. Spend some time shopping at the Gift shops for unique items.
After completion of this tour, have lunch before starting the return road trip to Accra
Late afternoon arrival in Accra and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Meet with seamstresses and tailors for final fitting of custom outfits ordered at the beginning of the tour.
After dinner, spend the evening recuperating from your travels around the country. For those so inclined, take the opportunity to explore nightlife in Accra.

Day 9: Saturday
After breakfast, continue the City Tour of Accra. Venues of interest include the Independence Square and Freedom Arch. During the stop over, take an opportunity to take pictures at this iconic landmark which commemorates Ghana’s Independence from colonial British rule.
Drive on to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum to learn about the role the first president of Ghana played in the struggle for Independence from colonial rule. Spend some time shopping at Arts & Crafts Center next door
All TRANSIT ; DIRECT flight passengers with morning flights will head to a clinic to take the COVID-19 Test required by your respective country for your return flight home.
Late afternoon transfer to the hotel to refresh yourselves. TRANSIT flight passengers departing in the MORNING should spend time packing for their return flight.
In the evening, head to a restaurant in the city for a Farewell Dinner. Transfer back to the hotel after dinner. For those so inclined, take the opportunity to explore nightlife in Accra.

Day 10: Sunday - Departure Day
Departure Day TRANSIT and DIRECT flights depart Kotoka International Airport in the EARLY morning (No Breakfast) Flight check-in time is 3 hours prior to departure time. Check out of the hotel and transfer to the Airport for flight check-in.
After breakfast (at hotel included), all DIRECT and TRANSIT flight passengers with afternoon and evening flights will head to a clinic to take the COVID-19 Test required by your respective country for your return flight home.
Spend the rest of the afternoon running last minute errands and revisiting shopping centers to shop and to package items purchased during your tour.
Transfer for DIRECT flight and TRANSIT flight passengers is in the late afternoon or early evening. Flight check- in time is 3 hours prior to departure
Check out of the hotel and transfer to Marina Mall Food Court for a meal prior to a final transfer to the airport for check-in
After saying your goodbyes, board your USA or Europe-bound flight.
